Hello and thanks for downloading my adventure map: Trial of Water.
I realize that some of the puzzles and mazes in this map might be very challenging.
Just to help you out a bit, I have prepaired a short walkthrough below.
It is meant in case of an emergency when you are really really stuck.

A. Step by step walkthrough:

1. After you start the game, swim out of the water and follow the hallways and stairs untill you reach an atrium.

2. Right across the atrium from you is a chest with 64 pieces of steak that you will need.

3. Behind the chest is a stairway, use it to go one floor up.

4. On this floor you'll find the CUPS PUZZLE, solve it and water will start flowing into the basin below.

5. Either use the stairs to go all the way down or jump into the basin in the center of the atrium.

6. Follow the canal that leads on from the basin until the point where the water is blocked by a floodgate, to the right of the floodgate you will find the VILLAGER PUZZLE.

7. Once you solve the VILLAGER PUZZLE the gates that block the floodgate control will open.

8. Flick the lever that controls the floodgate so that the water continues down the canal.

9. Watch the parched grove next to the basin rejuvinate: awww!

10. Follow the canal past the closed floodgate to a little bridge.

11. Left of the bridge you will find the BUCKET PUZZLE.

12. After the BUCKET PUZZLE, you will gain acces to the FIRE PUZZLE.

13. After you solve the FIRE PUZZLE, you will come across the ENDERMAN PUZZLE.

14. The ENDERMAN PUZZLE will lead you to another floodgate lever, flick it and jump down into the canal.

15. Follow the canal to a big room with a big, dry fountain in the middle.

16. If you look around the big room, you'll see a balcony sticking out somewhere. The room has four stairways going up, one in each corner.

17. Most of the stairways are blocked, but some of them are available. Find your way through the stairs and onto the floor right below the balcony.

18. Here, you'll find a waterstream that you can swim up, onto the balcony.

19. There's a passage on the wall behind the balcony, it leads to the RESERVOIR PUZZLE.

20. After you find your way up the RESERVOIR PUZZLE, you'll enter the sewer maze.

21. The sewer maze is deceptively simple: you'll only go up by ladders, and each floor has only one ladder. Most of the time it is helpful to pick a wall and follow it until you find the ladder. Sometimes a bit of jumping will be required to get to the next floor.

22. The sewer maze will lead you to a chest with some armor, a sword and extra food. Put on the armor and equip the sword before you go up into the BOSS FIGHT.

23. After the BOSS FIGHT a gate will open to a set of pressure valves.

24. Flick each pressure lever several times until the light turns red. Once all of them are red the cork will pop and the water will flow down.

25. Jump in the waterstream and let it take you down onto the fountain in the big room.

26. Follow the fountain down and enter the little shrine underneath it to receive the blessing of water: THE END


B. CUPS PUZZLE

You'll find three cups that are marked red, blue and yellow.
The objective is to transfer exactly four layers of water into the yellow cup.
Use the buttons in front of the cups in the right sequence:

- Fill the red cup
- Pour the red cup into the blue cup
- Fill the red cup
- Pour the red cup into the blue cup
- Empty the blue cup
- Pour the red cup into the blue cup
- Fill the red cup
- Pour the red cup into the blue cup
- Pour the blue cup into the yellow cup

Make sure you do not press the next button too fast, as it can only perform one action at a time.


C. VILLAGER PUZZLE

Guide the villager onto the block of diamond in the top left corner by controling his environment with the buttons.
One of the sequences that works is this:

- Press blue to make the water stream above the villager flow left.
- Press green to launch the villager
- The zombie will fall into the lava, as soon as he does, press yellow (sometimes the zombie will take the villager with him, the game will reset and you must try again)
- Press blue to make the villager drop into the next waterstream
- Press yellow to make the villager drop down
- Press blue as soon as the villager hops out of the waterstream (a piston will push him back in)
- If you did it right, the villager will be launched upward
- Press blue at the right time to put the villager in a water elevator (may require several tries, timing is key)
- That's it!


D. BUCKET PUZZLE

This room requires a lot of back and forth to complete.
You must use the limited buckets, water and lava at your disposal to find your way across.
There are multiple ways to complete the room, but this is one:

1. Take the stairs up and go onto the balcony above where you came in
2. The the empty bucket from the chest
3. Go down the stairs and use the bucket to collect the water from the cauldron.
4. On the east wall there are some dispensers surrounded by blue concrete, you can get behind them using a passage way.
5. Put the bucket of water in the first dispenser
6. Head back down and then up the stairs next to where you came in
7. Push the button on the north wal marked "activate flows"
8. Water will flow from the dispenser and you can use it to make your way onto the next platform.
9. Take the empty bucket from the chest and head back to where you came in.
10. Deactivate the flows button
11. Collect the bucket of water from the first dispenser
12. Go up the stairs left of where you came in and find a machine marked "lava generator"
13. Put the empty bucket in the dispenser and flick the lever behind the lava generator to collect the lava, retrieve the lava bucket
14. Find your way behind the dispensers on the West wall
15. Put the lava bucket in the blue dispenser and the waterbucket in the yellow dispenser
16. Activate flows
17. Activate drips
18. Deactivate flows
19. Retrieve the water and lava buckets from both dispensers
20. Drop down onto the bottom floor.
21. Take a passage on the West wall and go down the stairs to find a cobblestone generator
22. Put a bucket of lava in the dispenser and press the button
23. Flick the lever untill the cobblestone pillar it creates reaches the level of the platforms above you
24. Press the button and retrieve the waterbucket
25. Go up the stairs and go straight across the room into another passage to find some cows
26. Put the waterbucket in the dispenser next to the wheat and press the button
27. Collect the wheat from the chest, press the button again and retrieve the waterbucket
28. Use the wheat to breed the two cows
29. Use the wheat to lure the new baby cow off the grass and into the maze ahead
30. Use the wheat to guide the baby cow onto the button at the end of the maze
31. Collect the compressed ice from the chest
32. Go all the way back to where you entered the room and find your way up the stairs into the ceiling
33. Put a waterbucket in the yellow dispenser hanging from the ceiling
34. Activate drips (it will drip water on the blaze)
35. Activate drips again to kill the blaze (make sure it's dead)
36. Retrieve the waterbucket from the dispenser
37. Use the cobblestone helpers on the West wall to jump onto both platforms, collect the compressed ice and another bucket from the chests
38. Go to the lava generator and fill the empty bucket with lava
39. Find a machine called the melter and follow the instructions on the wall to melt both the blocks of packed ice, you now have three buckets of water
40. Drop down to the bottom floor to find a three by three basin with some dispensers
41. Put a bucket of water in each of the dispensers and press every button
42. Press every button again and retrieve the waterbuckets from the dispensers
43. Put a bucket of water in each of the dispensers in front of the light blue carpets
44. Activate flows
45. Deactivate flows
46. Retrieve the buckets of water from the dispensers (you have uncovered two colorcodes you will need later
47. Go into the ceiling and put a bucket of water in each blue dispenser
48. Activate flows
49. Retrieve the empty buckets and use the basin below to refill them
50. Put a bucket of water in the second and third dispenser on the east wall
51. Activate flows and retrieve the empty buckets
52. Make your way through the two waterspouts on the East wall to reach the platform with the colorcoded buttons
53. Input the first code to raise the first block (Lime, Pink, Yellow)
54. Input the second code to raise the second block (Purple, Blue, Red)
55. Jump across to where the Blaze used to be
56. Use the three waterspouts to make your way across the void
57. Upon your arrival on the other side, two stairways will appear back down
58. Use your last bucket of water to fill one of the cauldrons
59. Take a stairway down to the little basin to refill all three buckets
60. Fill the three remaining cauldrons to make another stairway up appear
61. Go up the stairway: end of the bucketpuzzle


E. FIRE PUZZLE

In the corridor to the left of the firefilled hallway, there's a row of dispensers, each with a waterbucket inside.
To get across the fire you only have to activate two, activate too many and the water will be soaked up by the sponges.
To know which ones to activate, look at the rows of sponges on the wall left of the fire.
There are only two three-block gaps in between the sponges, activate the two dispensers that aim right in the middle of those two gaps and happily swim across.


F. ENDERMAN PUZZLE

You can't run fast enough to avoid the tsunami that the enderman will send your way.
But if you turn your back towards him, he will not send the water your way.
Just walk backwards and turn into the next hallway.


G. RESERVOIR PUZZLE

This is all about activating (sometimes de-activating) waterflows coming out of colorcoded basins. Here's the correct order:

1. Press the blue button located in a niche on the bottom floor
2. Swim up the spout coming from the blue reservoir
3. Press the red button up there
4. Swim back down
5. Swim up the red waterspout
6. Press the yelow button
7. Swim back down
8. Swim up the yellow waterspout until you reach a platform
9. Use the part of the platform that sticks out to jump onto the next platform
10. Press the lime button there
11. Jump back across
12. Jump onto a ledge on the next wall
13. Jump across to the lime waterspout and swim up all the way
14. Jump into the basin on your left
15. Swim down into a pipe, then up and out the water
16. Press the orange button and swim back
17. Jump into the orange spout and swim all the way back down
18. Swim up the red spout, press the yellow button and swim back down
19. Swim all the way back up the orange spout
20. Swim up the yellow spout and go through the broken glass
21. Swim up the water in this tunnel to reach a little room with a cyan, brown and pink pipe control code (memorize the placement of the sea lantern for each color)
22. Go back to the yellow spout and follow it down to the actual pipe control room
23. Press the button for each color to make the lights change into the correct position (Cyan = bottom left, Brown = top right, Pink = bottom left)
24. Swim back through the yellow spout and into the broken window
25. Swim down the increased waterflow, through the pipe and up untill you find air
26. Jump to a ledge on the left wall and follow a tiny haidden tunnel behind the pillar
27. Jump across to the ladder and climb it: end of puzzle


H. BOSS FIGHT

You'll start out with two guardians in the middle of the room.
Each guardian takes only one hit, but for each guardian you kill, two more will spawn.
If you fall into the donutshaped basin, you have to swim into the bottom of one of the big marble pillars to climb out, and take the narrow bridge back across to the center.
After you kill eight guardians, some fountains will activate on the center platform.
After you kill sixteen guardians, some of them will start flying.
After you kill twentyfour guardians, all guardians will die and an elder guardian will appear.
The elder guardian takes about twenty hits to kill, and after you kill him a gate will open in the side of the room.
